Just for fun, I decided to snip out a sex scene from the longer Captain Blood fic I've had in the hopper for too long now, I Corinthians. (This, by the way, should mandate that I write at least one more in that particular fic, for novelty's sake.}

Other works in progress, I am mortified to admit, include a Harry Potter (all grown up), and, as versaphile has mentioned in passing, a Doctor Who (Eighth/Fifth) fic as a birthday present. Haven't watched anything for that yet.

And, other, non-fandom projects that shall remain nameless.

'k, versaphile, he's sort of the center of attention, and sort of not. Best I could do on short notice.

Can't call it a drabble, too many words.

Ha! I got LOTR:TTT in the mail yesterday and get to keep it! (Unemployed. Can't really justify buying toys. Had pre-ordered TTT before getting laid off. Opened package with DVD, looked at bill, saw $2.00 credit instead of amount due, thanks to accidental overpay earlier in year. Decided a sign from the gods. Said, OK, I'll keep it.)

Yaaaaaaaay!

So, I blew a whole six bucks and went to see Pirates of the Caribbean at a matinee. (When did matinees become so expensive?)

It was good. Maybe I've read too many Hornblower books this year (and seen it as well)...but I wanted the Navy to be the heroes!

Anyway, great cast, medium movie, IMO. Definitely a fun, blockbuster-type, and I do enjoy those. So, I wouldn't mind seeing it again, but the only thing that took my breath away was the undead pirates walking on the seabed and the skeleton/flesh transistions during the final fight scenes. Now that was friggin' cool.

I do, however, *adore* Geoffrey Rush, and Jack Davenport, and Johnny Depp, and Orlando Bloom, and Jonathan Pryce, so seeing them all In! One! Film! was a real treat. And I liked that the one female character of any import had brains, balls, and beauty, and a good half the adventure to herself. Always a plus.

Anyone else notice that 'lobsters' (ship's Marine detachments) seem to be as much cannon fodder as Star Trek redshirts?
