Four lies and one truth about me. I'm made up quasi-Trivial Pursuit categories for them:

Music: My voice range is almost-but-not-quite 3 octaves.

Art: I adore Picasso's 'Guernica'.

Literature (sort of ): I wrote Due South slash for two zines, back in the day.

Sports: I was frequently picked last for sports, although team sports were not big at my school, which, I think, minimized emotional scarring.

Science and Nature: I've been sucked on by a leech - but not as a medical procedure! *Shudder*

Lies, foul lies.

My range is only 2 octaves, pushing 2.5 on a really good day.

I appreciate Guernica in context, but dislike art that has to be explained. All of Picasso's art, cubism and most of what we call 'modern' art leaves me completely unmoved.

Never written Due South slash.

Don't remember ever being picked *last* for sports.

That leaves:

The leech. Yes, a little leech vampired away on my pinky one day out on the lake. Ewww. It was all gross and...and...attached.

You know, I keep waiting for someone to post:

"One statement in this post is a lie.
Lie #1.
Lie #2.
Lie #3.
Lie #4.
Lie #5."

And then fess up that the first statment is in fact the lie...

I should've done that!

Oh, but it was such an interesting idea turning the current meme 180 degrees. It seems to me N well-told lies and one truth would be harder to spot -- but it may just be that lies need to be well-told (i.e., believable) in this kind of thing, regardless of the truth:lie ratio.

It was also a very interesting exercise coming up with the lies.

Besides, if you say "one statement in this post is a lie", and then issue 5 lies, you've adhered to the statement. It's just that people would *infer* "only one statement in this post is a lie".

Ah, misdirection.

I guessed right! I think it is because I, too, have been sucked on by a leech. On my foot.

ewww!

Aren't they gross? I had phantom-leech numbness feeling on my fingertip for days if not weeks afterward. Bleah.

They are very, very gross. I had nightmares about it.
