What I want to make, but won't (maybe for Christmas, I'll probably just email this list to my folks and say 'I'll cook if you buy'):

roasted Cornish Game Hens, stuffed with nuts, dried fruit, celery and apple;
roasted red potatoes, carrots, and celery;
spinach salad with red bell peppers, cucumber and persimmon or tart apple;
cranberry sauce with orange slices and walnuts;
home-baked rolls and olive oil/balsamic vinegar/rosemary served in lieu of butter;

Dessert:

home-baked -- hot from the oven -- gingerbread served with fruit/jam and/or a la mode;
sweet potato or pumpkin pie (optional);
mulled wine or brandy


(oh, why not today? don't have the ingredients, and am already thawing big turkey)
