I watched tonight's episode of Angel. [edited much later: That's "Smile Time"]

cortese? Remember the X-Files episode, "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" that you enjoyed so much?

This episode of Angel is right up there. I wish I'd taped it. I died laughing, repeatedly.

Yappi is "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" - possibly the best episode ever. (Although..."Bad Blood"...and the black and white one...hard to choose, really.)

Blankety-blank ("here's your bleeping UFO"), that's "Jose Chung".

This ep of Angel: it's just the idea is so darn clever, and it's so unusual, and I'm not saying any details in order to avoid spoilers for other readers, but if I were looking for a quirky, series/genre-stretching kind of episode to foist on you, this would probably be my first choice.

Whedon, btw, has written/directed the next ep, so I'm expecting wonderful dialogue and may tape it so we can admire his wordplay at a later date.
