saw Return of the King yesterday!
Feb. 22nd, 2004 05:31 pmOh, yeah.
elke_tanzer was right. Just bring a box of tissues.
It was good, and the ending, I felt, had all the core elements it needed, and the battle effects were just amazing. I did at one point, say to myself, "this movie is really just a bunch of battles, or travelling to get to the next one, isn't it?"
Big, big thumbs up.
Yaaaay! I saw it in the theater. I was actually starting to worry I wouldn't make it in time, I mean, the darn thing came out in mid-December.
The more I think about it, especially ROTK, the more I realize how important it is that Sam have the last word in the book, and in the film. He is not the soul of the tale of the Return of the King, and he is not the King, he is the steadfast heart of the story, without which, all is truly lost. He is the day-to-day normalcy that the whole Quest is really there to preserve. Not great drama, but the little dramas that make up our lives.
Anyways, enough philosophy. I saw ROTK! W00t! L33t!
