Intermission
Teal'C sat at Daniel Jackson's side and considered giving in to an impulse. The impulse was simply to brush away the strands of hair that rested on the man's slack face.
In anyone else, he would consider it not only a forgivable impulse, but a normal one. Daniel Jackson was beautiful, in a way so many other humans he met since coming to Stargate Command were not: his emotions, his personality, enlivened him, made his face a thing of beauty. He had great passion, matching that of Dr. Fraiser to heal, and Captain Carter's to learn. Colonel O'Neill was older than the rest of the humans on the team, his passions both quiescent and shining at the same time. Odd. Beautiful, every one of them.
Beauty, however, was not something human men liked to be called, so the Jaffa restricted the appellation to the two human women he knew well, and left it at that.
The hair stayed put.

It was General Hammond who ordered that Daniel Jackson keep to his bed, ignoring the archaeologist's protests. "You can return to duty when Doctor Fraiser says so, and not before."
It was a sign of Daniel Jackson's improving health that he promptly became the "most irritating patient, ever", according to one of the orderlies.
Teal'C watched from his post near the man's bed: arms behind his back, lips faintly pursed, amused. Until finally Dr. Fraiser pursed her lips, unamused, and gave in, somewhat.
"Teal'C." She turned and pointed a finger at his sternum. "As Daniel's doctor, I order you to keep him in bed." She looked at her patient, who was regarding the world with his arms crossed. "You are not all right, Daniel." Then back to the Jaffa, eyebrows raised. "Well?"
He gave it a moment, considering available tactics. Then inclined his head to the doctor. "Daniel Jackson will comply."
"Good." She sighed and put small fists on her hips, looking at the man in the bed. "Then you may leave my infirmary."
***
Three steps out the door, Daniel Jackson attempted a beeline for the map room and Teal'C stopped him. Hand on the other man's elbow, he steered them both instead to Teal'C's quarters. The bed there would be perfectly suitable.
"Wha? Teal'C! We have to get to work!"
Hand on the door, the Jaffa turned. "Do the Tauri not keep their word?"
"I didn't give my word."
He gestured Daniel Jackson inside. "But I did."
There was a muttered imprecation unworthy of a scholar and warrior, so Teal'C politely ignored it. He drew down the blankets and sheets. Pointed at the bed. "Sit."
Jackson sat. "I don't want to sit, I want to find Sam and Jack."
"We will. Shortly. However, as Doctor Fraiser pointed out, you require bed rest." This reassurance was accompanied with the removal of Daniel's clothing, quickly and confidently, as if removing the clothing of a child. "If you will not take it in the infirmary, you shall do so here."
The man was now clothed in nothing but brief shorts, looking rather surprised. Teal'C pushed on his bare chest with one brown palm, forcing him down against the pillow. He folded Daniel's clothes, pushing him down a second time when he tried to sit up again.
"What are you going to do, steal my clothes to keep me here?"
"I believe that will not be necessary."
The Jaffa seated himself on the edge of the bed and withdrew Daniel Jackson's limp penis from his garment. He bent and swept it into his mouth.
It would not stay limp for long.
"Teal'C -- " there was a strangled noise and Jackson writhed slightly on the bed. "What -- what are you doing?" More strangled noises.
The man moaned, an incredible noise, passion turning his skin pink. Teal'C stopped for a moment to speak.
"I am ensuring your compliance."
Then returned his attention to the matter at hand. It was quite firm, now.
Daniel Jackson protested, "It'll never wo -- oh! Oh!"
***
Seeing the other man less than an hour later, dressed and working in defiance of all orders to the contrary: perhaps I should have hidden his clothes after all.
