Actually, it wasn't so bad, I just sat down and added some pages to the Dune section over at the Directorium, since all the squeeing over Children of Dune (here) reminded me to invest some effort. It's funny, I know Dune pretty well (I came up with the character one-liners at http://directorium.org/Dune1984 for the 1984 film without even trying), yet I've an astonishing lack of interest in reading the subsequent novels. The non-Frank-Herbert ones, I mean, and I've only read the three after Children of Dune (God Emperor, Heretics, and Chapterhouse) once. Maybe not ever, actually, I can't remember making it to Chapterhouse.
It's just, once you get into Franchiseland, I'm usually not all that interested. It's hard to motivate myself to read an entire series. And yet, I turn around and whine when characters on TV never evolve or get long story arcs.
*shrug*
So, here's my freebie for the CoD sibslashers.
How to Justify IncestFic in the Dune Universe
1. Egyptian pharoahs used to marry their sibs;
2. Look! Arrakis has sand, too!
