Prince of Thieves, my sainted aunt. Caught it on cable. It's been one of those Sundays.
God, does Costner's accent suck in this movie, or what? It's almost a supporting castmember in itself. Kevin Costner as Robin Hood, Kevin Costner's accent played by...a small rock.
Still, there were some decently pretty moments of foliage (me and shell are both big tree fans), Alan Rickman (all hail Alan! He plays it pretty fucking funny, actually), Morgan Freeman, Michael Wincott with his sexy scorched-rasp voice, and Christian Slater and a bit o' torture.
One thing I like about this version of RH is that it's a more 90's Marian who acts with some independence and doesn't *just* get trotted out to damsel around and be in distress. The other thing is that the only other noticeable romantic couple onscreen are these two sturdy, plump, rather egalitarian peasants -- John Little and his wife, who is rather fun and takes no dung from anyone.
