Never read it, watched (taped) the film version last night, and good thing, too, since I fell asleep for at least half an hour if not more, in the middle of it. Hey! It was too late at night!

1989, Sammi Davis, Paul McGann, Amanda Donohoe. This is going to sound like such a silly-weird thing to comment on -- his (McGann's) skin is so young in this film (see? toldya: silly. weird. 'silly-weird'. Seird?). It's so tight. It's skin that just screams late teens/early 20's, although he was older, unless the time between filming and release was way, way, off.

Oh, yes, gratuitious nudity from a US audience perspective, and that would be 'nudity' as far as the civilized world is concerned. I'll probably watch it again when I'm not falling asleep in the middle of films, so I can actually see the whole thing.

Signed up for the obscure fandom fic santa thing (http://www.intimations.org/yuletide/) and now I'm desperately curious as to which fandom I'll wind up writing (and receiving). (I said I was willing to write Captain Blood, The Dead Zone (film or TV), Children of Dune, and...uh, Brimstone, I think.)

Can't we do this *now*? My fingers are itching in anticipation.

*Sigh*.

Maybe I can just issue a random challenge to writers out there.

Hm.

*drums fingers*

OK. Take your fandom. Take your favorite pairing. Corrupt it - mirror universe, multiple personality/schizophrenia, parallel dimension, time loop, whatever. A+B but suddenly, plot-mechanistically, B doesn't know who A is, anymore, because for whatever reason, B is not the person A knew them as.

Get them to fuck, or at least, lean real hard towards it.

Could be fun.
