Today's Audiobook Adventures
Nov. 25th, 2003 02:58 pmToday I got to record part of a Holt Handbook on grammar. Yes, it was as thrilling as it sounds. Large chunks of the sections I read (discussing capitalization, abbreviations, properly noting time and dates (A.D./B.C.), and some differences between formal and informal writing) were just like reading back dictation:
"quote, Well, the facility's plumbing needs repair, colon, item a, comma, item b, comma, item c, period, These repairs must be complete by eight colon thirty capital p period capital m period, or additional charges may be incurred, period, end quote".
My parting gift? Someone brought persimmons into the studio! I brought two home with me.
