*grrrrrr*

Apparently, they're cutting down a tree in the courtyard. (Yesterday, I thought, "apparently, they're trimming a tree". Current data indicates this is no longer the case.) Said arbor is directly between my bedroom and my office windows and a couple meters from the apartment wall.

Chainsaw. 8 am. I retired for bed at 2 am after doing some web page checking for a friend of mine.

Just for the record? A chainsaw in the morning is worse than a gas-powered leafblower, which was both yesterday's and Monday's wake-up noise. All things, i.e., my bedtime, being equal.

I need a good, verbose, cussing language. English is too curt, I want something lyrical, where, may parasites gnaw your intestines from inside-out for a thousand years, or gods curse you with skin-devouring necrotic bacteria and a desperate mini-cam news crew is considered "a little short, but OK in a pinch".

Middle and Early Modern English aren't that bad, if you want to keep it native. If not, allow me to suggest German: my best friend in junior high used to whisper translations of her father's colorful cursing to me, of which one such phrase translated to the following:

Heaven's ass and goat cheese!

There were several more complex ones that I have since forgotten.

I should study harder, I see.

Now, how come we didn't cover cussing in my high school German class? (OK, *that* was a strictly rhetorical question.) I can say 'shit' in 4 different languages, but there's never much coverage of anything more um...socially complex in foreign language class.

They've got some other machine out there, turning the tree stump into mulch. It's not as bad as the chainsaws.

Do someone know these curses auf Deutch? Because I'm a purist.

Drawing upon my buried two years of German and how the memory of it sounds, I believe it was Himmelasche und Ziegekäse.
